1. What are the System Requirements?

Standalone Installation (or peer-to-peer):

  1. Windows XP/Service Pack 2 (Windows Vista Recommended)
  2. Pentium 4 or comparable CPU
  3. 512 MB of RAM
  4. 5 GB Disk Space (1 GB for program files, 4GB for database and backup files)
  5. 1024x768 resolution monitor
Note: Windows XP Home Edition limits the number of concurrent users to 5. Windows XP Professional and Windows 2000 Professional limit the number of concurrent users to 10.

Network Installation:

  1. Client Machine (The machine running Truck Tracker software)
    1. Windows XP/Service Pack 2 (Windows Vista Recommended)
    2. Pentium 4 or comparable CPU
    3. 256 MB of RAM

2. Can Truck Tracker be run on a network?

Yes. Truck Tracker is a client/server package optimized for network use. It will run seamlessly on a standalone system, LAN or WAN, and can be used with Citrix or Microsoft Terminal Services for remote access.


3. Does Truck Tracker track PMs?

Yes. Truck Tracker allows you to schedule and track preventive maintenance for each vehicle/unit. The software will also warn you in advance about upcoming service and reported problems and send e-mail notifications.


4. Does Truck Tracker track fuel and mileage in each state?

Yes. Truck Tracker allows you to log mileage and fuel entries by state. You can run reports to help total the amounts per state or per vehicle.


5. Does Truck Tracker track IFTA reports?

Fuel tax reports can be generated per state and mileage reports can be generated by state.


6. Does Truck Tracker track parts usage and costs?

Yes. Truck Tracker has an easy to use parts tracking system that will track your costs and quantities per vehicle/unit, site and region. With the Standard version you can track part quantities, costs and classifications right out of the box. The Professional version includes a full featured parts inventory system that allows you to track purchases, receipts, adjustments, parts usage, core tracking, warranty tracking, and physical inventory processes.


7. Can I determine how much I spent on a vehicle over a given period of time and what service and parts were done and used?


Yes. You can easily determine your total cost and cost per mile for a single vehicle or the entire fleet, including services, parts, fuel and expenses.


8. Can I determine what parts are obsolete and which ones need to be reordered?

Yes. You can easily determine obsolete parts by entered a specified obsolete date, and you generate a reorder report based on your reorder parameters. You can also use a proven reorder formula that will automatically determine when and how many parts need to be ordered based on the past history of the part. These two functions will help reduce your carrying costs.


9. Does Truck Tracker track dual meter readings in miles, kilometers, and/or hours

Yes to all of the above. You can customize the list of meter types. This means that all forms, lists and reports will show the right meter types. In the Professional package you can customize the units of measure to choose from when defining parts. These units of measure will carry to all the labels and reports in the parts inventory tracking.


10 Does Truck Tracker track fluids in liters or gallons?

Yes. You have the option to track fluids in liters or gallons for each vehicle.


11. Does Truck Tracker track tire information and tire warranty?

Yes. You can specify the warranty period and expected life of the tire. The software will warn you when the tire has almost reached it’s expected life.


12. Does Truck Tracker allow you to attach documents?

Yes, Truck Tracker allows you to attach any type of document to vehicles, employees and parts.


13. What is MicroSoft SQL database and how is it different from other non-SQL databases?

A SQL database allows you to process information at a more efficient rate than non-SQL databases. The SQL database provides a higher level of security, reliability and scalability for your company's software.


14. Is Truck Tracker scalable?

Yes, Truck Tracker can grow as your company and needs grow. Site, user, and vehicle licenses may be added at any date. Addtionally, optional modules or package upgrades may be purchased at any time.
